Parking is available in the two public car parks situated on the shore side of the main road (A83) in Ardrishaig providing a total of approximately 100 spaces. Marshals will be on hand to help direct traffic and then point you towards the registration office in the Ardrishaig Public Hall. If the car parks are full when you arrive, the marshals will try to direct you towards nearby on street parking within the village of Ardrishaig itself. If parking on street, please do so in a responsible and considerate manner. Please do not park on the A83.
The registration point is in the Ardrishaig Public Hall just opposite from the public car parks. Registration will be open from 8.30am. Please arrive in good time to allow for parking and registration. At registration you will be provided with your race number.
On the rear of your race number, you must right down any medical information that may be essential in an emergency: i.e. Any medical conditions, medication currently being taken, allergies, deafness etc.
Registration will close at 9:45am prompt, any persons arriving after that time will not be able to race. The race briefing will be at 10am in the hall. All competitors MUST attend the briefing.
After the briefing, runners will be asked to board buses which will take them to the start line in Crinan. Buses will leave at 10:15am sharp. There is no bag-holding facility on the bus. Please board the bus ready to race. Please take extra care crossing the canal foot-bridges between the road at Crinan and the start area.
Toilets are available in the Ardrishaig Public Hall and there are public toilets in the car park opposite. Toilets are also available near the start area at Crinan.
The finish line will be at Lock 4 where the canal tow path ends in Ardrishaig. Please be careful making your way from the finish line back to Ardrishaig Hall.
Refreshments are being provided for all competitors by the 19th Mid Argyll Scouts who are raising funds in support of their activities. Last year the Scouts put on a fantastic spread including homemade soups, sandwiches and cakes. Please enjoy the refreshments and give generously in support of our local Scouts who have donated their time and prepared the refreshments for you. We do hope that you will stay around after the race to enjoy the refreshments available in Ardrishaig Public Hall.
Goody bags will be available for finishers to collect in the Ardrishaig Public Hall. Please ensure that you collect yours after you finish.
As with pre-race, public toilets are available in the Ardrishaig Public Hall and in the opposite public car park.
Prize giving is planned for 1pm (or sooner if results are in). As race times are manually collected and collated, we thank you for your patience and ask that you do not disturb the race timings team during the race and immediately after. We will look to email the results and publish them on the Scottish Athletics website as soon as possible.
We really hope you enjoy the event. Your entry will be directly helping raise money for the community owned and operated Mid Argyll Community Pool (MACPool) and we thank you for enthusiasm for what must be one of the most scenic races around.
MACPool is offering a free swim to all competitors during the afternoon after the race. Just show your race number at the pool reception. you can find the pool on Oban Road, Lochgilphead PA31 8NG
